Motivation is one of the essential things for an employee. Firstly, can you inspire and motivate yourself, your employee, or anyone surrounding you? There are a number of situation where a person needs to motive another. For instance, at times, parents have to motivate their children, teachers should motivate students, and officials should motivate employees.

The way you motivate employees or some other person will let them have the will to work according to you. A successful motivation will bring you whatever you wish. But do you know any effective way to motivate employees?

Here are a few ways to motivate a person to make them do something that you want.

1. Let them know that you trust them:

You a person or an employee know that you trust them and also depend on them, they will complete the work assigned to them before time. This gives them a confidence that they can do more than what they are doing currently. This will also let them do the best possible job and present you a better result.

2. Do not bribe the employees:

Rewarding the employees will reflect on their performance. Rewarding them is one of the types of motivation. If you don’t reward your employees, people may stop giving their best. If you want something more than what you get regularly, then surely, rewards can help you reach to things easily.

But this is all like bribing the employees to get the work done. Simply put “Stop bribing people to motivate them”. Instead, you can emotionally get connected with the employees and emphasize progress.

3. Keep yourself at high performance:

If you yourselves are feeling tired and lazy to work, then how can you expect others to work? Or, how can you motivate others to get the work done from them? Thet will seem ridiculous. So you need to keep yourself at high performance.

Here are a few tips to keep up your performance.

  • Raise your brain’s dopamine levels to improve your mood by listening to songs or enjoying nature or the work that would change your mood.
  • Maintain a log of all your works for a particular time duration, for instance, a week, so that you can proceed with what to do in the coming times.
  • Increase your capacity
  • Share your energy with those surrounding you.
  • Understand your goal and even others’.

4. Appreciate individual rather than the team:

Point out the efforts made by the individual and praise them individually rather the appreciating the team in whole. Then the individual will know their capacity and try to do more than their efforts. A team works towards achieving a common goal. Even if each of the team members has separate ways of attempting their work, they reach the same point. Whenever we have a meeting, we let a different team member lead the conversation and take over the topic. This way, they can share topics and also they can be heard among the other teams and their members. This will be a motivation for that team member who leads the meeting.

6. Be vulnerable:

Share both your failures and successes with all the teams working for you. Your experiences may inspire and motivate employees by letting them know that they are not the only ones who have toovercome the struggles and problems. Your experiences may bring a special confidence in them.

7. Set smaller weekly goals:

Setting a small deadline for the work will bring a competitive spirit in them. This will let them do the work allotted to them a bit faster. Setting smaller goals will keep the employee along the goal. Make sure that the weekly goals are realistic enough to reach to the maximum.
